LIAFI a Non-Political organization was formed on 2nd October 1964 at Bombay Every LIC Agent is celebrating this day as LIAFI FORMATION DAY. The first President was Late. Dev Mudbudri, who is instrumental in bringing educational movement among L.I.C Agents.

It was on 24th January 1945 the Agents of this country came together at Calcutta under the leadership of Late. S.S. Ali to protect our rights. Hence we celebrate every 24th January as AGENCY PROFFESSION PROTECTION DAY (APP DAY).

LIAFI is registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 (Act. XXI of 1860) with Society Number 2924 of 2000 on 4-11-2000 at Visakhapatnam. LIAFI has represented the problems of Agents community before various Parliamentary Committees.

The services of late Dev Mudbudri, A.K. Purkayastha and H. M. Jain should be remembered always.

• LIAFI succeeded in bringing AGENTS’ REGULATIONS-1972. These regulations are first of its kind in the world.
• LIAFI succeeded in convincing LIC to formulate CLUB RULES to enhance the prestige of LIC Agents who are consistently doing good business.
• LIAFI with a lot of struggle could succeed in introducing the prestigious CAREER AGENCY SCHEME.
• LIAFI struggled to get Commission Day, Commission Saving Scheme & Agents Corners in all Branches.
• LIAFI could succeed in getting deleted harmful clauses against Agents from the Insurance Agents Regulations framed by IRDA.
• LIAFI was instrumental in getting relief to the policyholders by way of reduction in stamp duties on policy loans.
• LIAFI was successful in getting additional interest charged only on outstanding installments instead of outstanding loan amount of LIC-HFL.
• LIAFI could succeed in getting implemented Gratuity to Agents which is unique.
• LIAFI is successful in getting decentralized cashless MEDICLAIM SCHEME with SPOUSE for Club Members up to 85 Years.
• LIAFI could succeed to cover Club Member Agents under GROUP INSURANCE SCHEME, with accident cover up to 69 Years.
• LIAFI succeeded to get cover for all tiedAgents under GROUP INSURANCE SCHEME from Rs.5 Lakh to Rs.15 Lakhs basing on the seniority with cover up to 69 years.
• LIAFI convinced LIC to introduce Empowered Agency Scheme.
• LIAFI struggled for decades for getting the concept of Agent recruiting Agent implemented through the scheme of CHIEF LIFE INSURANCE ADVISOR (CLIA) and CLIA Corners.
• On constant pressure by LIAFI, L.I.C. introduced Samvardhan pension scheme for the Agents whose commission is one Lakh and above.
• The Housing Loan and 2nd Housing Loan is the successful efforts of LIAFI.
• Children’s Education loan is the achievement of LIAFI.
• Enabling reappointed Agents to be eligible for renewal commissionis the recent achievement of our LIAFI.
• The Group Personal Accident and Disability Benefits Scheme is the result of LIAFI’s efforts.
• With sustained Political effort, we could get quantum of Term insurance increased to, Rs.25,000 to 1,50,000 basing on the average renewal commission.
